Endangered Species Art Award

The International Rotary Action Group for Endangered Species (RAGES) Announces its 4th Annual Endangered Species Art Award Contest

This contest is calling on all artists who create art or music, specifically of and for threatened or endangered species around the world. Media used can include: drawing, painting, fabric, sculpture, photos, film, mixed media, and music.

Creations must be completed during 2026/2027. Entry submissions can start NOW. Online submissions of digital copies only. Due April 30, 2027.

AWARD is $1,000 U.S. Dollars through the Erickson and Puttock Conservation Fund.

Application Process

  1. Create art/music and a title about endangered species/habitat.
  2. Contact your local Rotary Club, who will sponsor you.
  3. Take digital copies.
  4. With your name, your country, your email, and a digital copy of your piece, reflect on your art/music with up to 1 page of writing about the species, your inspiration, a message for Rotarians, and how you created the work itself (materials and composition).
  5. Upload your digital copy and short essay to the RAGES website by April 30, 2026. No late entries will be accepted.
  6. The winner will be awarded a certificate and $1,000 U.S. A copy of your piece will be displayed at the June 13โ€“17, 2026, Taipei, Taiwan Rotary International Convention, in the Hall of Friendship RAGES booth.

Judging

A team of judges (biologists and artists) will evaluate the work on:

  1. How well the art/music relates to RAGESโ€™s threatened and endangered species conservation theme
  2. Species/habitat communication
  3. Creativity and authenticity
  4. The quality of composition
  5. The quality of the short reflection essay
