Who is eligible to join Rotary Action Group for Endangered Species?
Any current or past member of the Rotary Family 18 years or older is eligible to join. This includes:
Current Interactors, Rotaractors, Rotary Community Corps members, Rotary Friendship Exchange participants, RYLA participants, Rotary Youth Exchange participants, Rotary Peace Fellows, Global Grant Scholars, Vocational Training Team members and leaders, District Grant Scholars, and New Generation Service Exchange participants.
Alumni and Former Interactors, Rotaractors, Rotary Youth Exchange participants, RYLA participants, Rotary Peace Fellows, Global Grant Scholars, Vocational Training Teams participants and leaders, District Grant Scholars, New Generation Service Exchange participants, and participants in former TRF programs such as Ambassadorial Scholars, Grants for University Teachers, Group Study Exchange, Rotary Volunteers, etc.
How much are the annual dues?
There are no membership dues at this time.
We may consider implementing a dues structure in the future. Some Rotary Action Groups are dependent upon membership dues to support their administrative costs.
How do I become a member?
Use the button marked Join on the menu at the top of the page. You can navigate to the membership form using that button.
After joining, consider recruiting members of your Rotary club to also join RAGES.
Can I benefit from RAGES without being a member?
Yes — you can view the Endangered Species projects posted by other members and learn about resources that may be available for projects you are interested in. You can request that your specific interest be added to the list of supported projects.
How do I benefit from being a member? You can:
- Submit your own projects and seek partners
- Join a Project Forum or create a forum for your specific interest
- Receive support on project development
- Ask for project advice based on Rotarians’ experience
- Share your expertise
- Contribute to local projects on a forum
How can I get more involved?
RAGES needs volunteers to join the board-appointed working groups and committees that support RAGES’s mission.
- Share your expertise and experience with endangered species Project Chairs.
- Tell us if you have interest in sharing a complex endangered species issue that can be developed using the RAGES global forum and reach.
- Join RAGES’s network of local and regional forums supporting endangered species.
How can RAGES support the preparation of a Global Grant?
- Qualify project proposals.
- Help develop Community Assessments.
- Help make connections between saving endangered species and Global Grant criteria of addressing “humanitarian projects, graduate-level scholarships, and vocational training teams.”
- Help with networking in the ‘host district.’
- Help with articulating potential correlations to one or more of Rotary’s Areas of Focus.
The Life Cycle of a Global Grant
- Draft — RAGES can help Rotary members plan a project or scholarship and build a grant application online.
- Authorization — RAGES can help clubs and district leaders review the application and help obtain funding.
- Submitted — The grant’s planners submit the RAGES-endorsed application to The Rotary Foundation.
- Approved — If the grant is approved, the Foundation issues payment.
- Completion — Members carry out the project, reporting to The Foundation with a courtesy copy to RAGES.
